Everyone should be able to have a beautiful, personal ceremony.  This is why I offer a range of packages from the Short and Sweet ceremony with all the basic elements of a traditional ceremony (if that's what you're looking for) through to the Calluna Plus which is jam-packed with stuff about you along with some other bells and whistles.

All wedding ceremonies include traditional features such as the bridal party entrance; I do's; exchange of rings; the kissing business; announcing the happy couple at the end; etc.

These packages also apply to vow renewal, naming and other ceremonies.

All packages include:

·         Initial 30min consultation (so you can see if I'm the right celebrant for you)

·         Draft and edit ceremony outline and personalised wording (based on your feedback)

·         Example promises and readings, if required

·         Finalise ceremony outline and script

·         Printed copies of readings and promises on A5 cards, if required

·         Keepsake certificate, signed by couple and up to 6 guests

·         Ongoing contact and support

·         Delivery of the ceremony according to the script

·         Liaison with people with a starring role; venue staff; photographers; musicians; etc. 

·         Presentation copy of ceremony script.

Travel costs

There are no additional costs for travel to and from a venue which is less than 25 miles from Crewe, Cheshire.    Thereafter, mileage will be charged at the current HMRC rate of 45p/mile for the return journey from Crewe to the venue (less 50 miles).

first things first (a very important legal bit)...

A celebrant-led wedding ceremony is not currently legally binding in England and Wales - it is a symbolic ceremony, not a legal one. 

Couples choosing an independent celebrant usually complete their marriage registration in a brief statutory (or 'no frills') civil marriage ceremony via their local council registration service and, after they are legally married, they have their celebrant-led wedding ceremony (or 'wedding encore')

Ceremony Script Writing Fee for ceremonies written in 2024/2025 is £450 and includes all elements of the Calluna package except I do not deliver the ceremony or liaise with those working at it.  This includes a one hour coaching session with the person who will conduct your ceremony on the day, guidance notes for both you and them, and pdf files of all the documents needed for your ceremony.  If print copies of all documents are required, the total cost will be £475.

reserving your date...

Reserving your date is simple.  Just contact me to see if I'm available on your big day.  If so, we'll arrange a telephone call or meeting to chat through your initial ideas and you can decide whether or not to progress to a firm booking.

To secure your date, a non-refundable booking fee of £150 is required within 7 days of our telephone call/meeting (even if your ceremony is months away, I start working on it immediately).  The booking fee is deducted from your final balance.

paying the balance...

The agreed fee (less the booking fee) is payable by BACS six weeks before your ceremony date.  When the balance has been paid, I will send you a final copy of your ceremony script.

cancellation policy...

If you cancel your booking, the following proportion of the remaining fee will be payable, depending on how much notice you give before your ceremony date:

within one month:        100% 

within two months:       75%

within three months:    50%

If, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am unable to conduct your ceremony on the day, I will provide a suitably qualified substitute celebrant from an established professional network who will use the ceremony script and ceremony format that I have created for you.  

delays on the day...

Delays can happen for lots of reasons.  I understand this and am flexible enough to accommodate minor hold-ups.  However, on the day, if the ceremony starts more than 30 minutes later than the time agreed (due to reasons for which I am not responsible), a charge of £50 will be made for every hour or part hour after the agreed ceremony start time.

a word about copyright...

Your ceremony documents are written specifically for you and great care is taken over each and every word.  Copyright of your ceremony documents remains with Calluna Ceremonies.  Permission must be sought if you intend to reproduce or publish those documents, please.

Similarly, copyright in all text content on this website belongs to Calluna Ceremonies and some photographs (where indicated) are copyright of Hannah Shearman Photography.  Appropriate action will be taken in the event of any breaches of copyright concerning our work.

confidentiality...

While working with you, I will obtain and store securely some of your personal data (e.g. name; contact details; etc.) which is only used for the purposes of creating and conducting your ceremony .  Rest assured:  I will not disclose any of your personal data and it will be deleted one year after your ceremony.  When you confirm a booking with me, you will receive a copy of my Privacy Policy.
